Conscience is an annual Bristol University ethical club night, focused on raising awareness for a specific chosen cause and helping to support the movement by fundraising for charities (Bristol Hub raised a fantastic  value of over£800 last year at Conscience: Congo). With the UN Cop15 Climate Change Conference coming near, this year's Conscience is dedicated to raising awareness for the awaiting dangers humankind faces if we choose to put a blind eye to this problem. The effects that are now predicted by scientists are: more droughts and flooding, rising sea levels, less ice and snow and more extreme weather conditions. Bristol Hub chose, after review from its member socities, to split the money raised to help the following

• Oxfam Here and Now - The UK Prime Minister Gordon Brown has booked his seat at critical UN climate talks in Copenhagen this December, thanks in large part to pressure from 12,000 Oxfam supporters.Pressure from Oxfam supporters has also helped force energy supplier E.ON to drop plans for a new coal power station, and with it a dire precedent for the UK’s future carbon footprint. 
• Relief International - Niger is ranked the second-poorest country in the world by the U.N. Human Development Index, with approximately 61 % of the country's 14 million living on less than 1 dollar per day. Threatened by drought, an arid climate, and food shortages, Nigerians struggle to feed their families daily. s, RI has launched a multidimensional livelihood rehabilitation program and a healthcare program focusing on capacity building through safe motherhood care, child health practices and knowledge of preventable diseases.
