Campaigning
We are a group of students who are dedicated to help the fight against HIV/AIDS through various means, primarily raising awareness, fund raising and political advocacy. Bristol Stop Aids Society, affiliated to the University of Bristol Student's Union, is a member of the Student Stop AIDS Campaign, an exciting coalition of various like-minded organisations, co-ordinated by SPW.
We are the Bristol branch of a national student activist network campaigning on issues of world poverty, human rights and the environment.
The Fairtrade Society works closely with the union to promote fair trade and related products within the university. We also enjoy strong ties with the Bristol Fairtrade city network. As a society we organise a variety of events throughout the year including film nights, food and wine tasting and acclaimed speaker evenings – to name a few goings on!
Aegis is a genocide prevention and awareness organisation. We have various awareness raising nights in Bristol such as speaker and film events, and also various campaigns to help end the genocide in Darfur.
Amnesty International society is your student representative for the worldwide human rights movement Amnesty International. We campaign to protect individuals when justice, fairness, freedom and truth are denied. Our purpose is to raise awareness and promote respect for the principles enshrined by the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and other international standards from the grass roots.
